I took the first week of 2012 off from work to visit with family. After they left, I have managed to knock out and complete 2 UFO quilts and made a new rag quilt. :-) I hope the rest of 2012 is as productive as this first weekend! I finished this fun strip twist quilt, the quilt was actually completed except for the binding. I also finished this Winnie the Pooh baby quilt. The top had been done and pinned but needed to be quilted and bound. Last but not least, I made this new project as well. A super adorable and vibrant purple and lime green rag quilt. I need to take pics in the sunshine to capture the pretty colors.

Here is my finished baby blue/brown nap time rag quilt. It's a great size for, well, nap time, daycare, grandma's house, or in the car. It measures 26" x 39" and made from all 100% cotton flannels. It's warm and super soft. Interested in this quilt but need a different size? Just contact me for a price quote. I have supplies in stock and ready to cut.

I am finished with the flannel shirt memory quilt. :-) It's throw size, perfect for displaying over a rocking chair or sofa. I used a blue flannel for the backing so it's super warm and extra soft. Now to wrap it up all pretty and send it off to my customer.

I am finally getting back into the Ragamuffin Quilts Studio. That's great news for all of us. It means creative fun time for me and lots of new items and fabrics for you! I have a new arrival coming early next week. Four prints of super cute flannel prints for baby boy. No worries, the girl prints are coming too, once they get restocked. Here are the four prints - I can make a custom rag quilt for you or a gift recipient or you can purchase yardage if you are a DIYer. Feel free to contact me if you want to pre-order. They are each on a 15 yard bolt. Happy sewing! Ragamuffin Quilts

I made another rag quilt with my rag die cutter but I cut out the large corner pieces prior to assembling this time; didn't quite like it as much. It made it a little more difficult to assemble and make sure the corners were caught in the seams. The end result was fine but it just took a little extra work.

I have been wanting an Accuquilt Go! Cutter for a long time and finally got one recently for my birthday. As most of you know about me, I love rag quilts. Rag quilts are wonderful yet they can take a toll on bad wrists/hands when clipping each and every one of those fluffy seams. They are worth every ounce of effort, trust me. However, I "cheated" on this one. hee hee I used the Accuquilt rag die for this quilt. I was surprised at how much longer the fringe is on the die compared to my manual cutting but it had a wonderful outcome anyway. Like all quilts, nothing is written in stone as to how long your fringe should be. :-) I'm not exactly sure if it's a time saver with the entire production of my rag quilts or that I will use it each and every time I make one but it sure did help me out this week since I was not feeling up to cutting all that fringe by hand. Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave comments! I love hearing feedback and opinions from my fellow crafters. Have you used the rag die? How did you like it? Have a great weekend!

John Deere Toddler Rag Quilt

Red Black Pick-a-Pocket Purse & Key Fobs

My hubby was nice enough to finish clip this cute John Deere rag quilt for me today while he watched some football. I had no idea he was clipping away until he showed me it was done. :-) I will have it listed soon. I also finished one of my newest pick-a-pocket purses but I put this one together a little differently and need to finish off the seams with my serger. I think the lining is sturdier with this construction but that's just my own humble opinion. :-)

It's finally evolved into a real quilt top. My poor husband has seen several quilts started over the years with his name on it but I either lost interest or didn't like the way the fabrics and blocks mixed together. I think I have finally gotten a top together for him after 17 years......YAY! I did a disappearing 9 patch but then had to cut them down nearly an inch all around to size them down to the cornerstone fish blocks. I still may add a border block of some type, just not sure which one yet. It already measures 70" x 70". Once I get get the border attached it's being sent off to a long-armer or my poor husband will NEVER get to use this quilt in his lifetime.
