Exciting News at Ragamuffin Quilts Studio!

Hi, everyone!  Hope this finds y'all (sorry, living in the south that get stucks in your daily vocabulary) well and being productive with your crafting.

We had an exciting delivery this week in the studio.....a new Brother PE770 embroidery machine. :-)  We are getting setup to run samples to offer all sorts of personalized and customized items.

I bet you can guess what we will be doing all weekend. :-)

Here a few photos from last night as we unpacked and setup......

My Rose

I just had to share a beautiful drawing of a rose that my 10 year old son drew for me last night.  He had no idea just how excited I would be to receive this from him.  I will take a friend's advice and frame it.  I think I will hang it on the wall in my new sewing room.  :-)

I think these speak for themselves.  :-)

My New Backyard

It's been a month now since our move to south FL and we are loving every minute of it.  Especially our backyard, full of water, fun & wildlife.

We have a mating pair of swans that are just beautiful.  We also have a little cute pair of mallards that come right to our screen room for snacks throughout the day on the weekends.  We also have a new mama duck that is fun to watch.  She started off a few weeks ago with 8 tiny little ducklings, sadly last weekend she started off with 5 but by Sunday she was down to 4.  We watched her frantically looking around for #5 but he/she was no where in sight.  It's sad but just a fact of nature.  She does have one little spunky duckling.  It decided it didn't want to share with a black bird and actually ran it off.  It was quite comical since the duckling was 1/2 the size of the black bird.

Here are a few pics of the past weekend of the wild birds and one of my fellas out fishing this evening so I can do some Ragamuffin stuff.  Enjoy!

I'm back!!!!

After almost 6 months of mayhem, I am back and ready for "business".   First order of business (as I unpack my boxes of fabric & premade items) is to get things listed again.  Then I will finish up the 3 memory quilts for my Greenville customer who has been super patient!

Of course, I hope to reconnect with all of my Twitter & Facebook pals.

Don't forget that all purchases made through www.ragamuffinquilts.net have FREE U.S. shipping.

Now off to find my camera and box of goodies so I can sew this afternoon.  My machine is crying in it's box since it's been neglected for almost 6+ weeks.  Yikes!

Have a wonderful day!

We're almost ready.....

It's been a long few months but we are just about ready for our relocation and very excited to serve our customers from our new location in south Florida.

No worries, you'll still get the same great service, we'll just be at a new location.  :-)

Once we are settled and our inventory is unpacked, we hope to have a great sale and maybe even a give-away!  Stay tuned for details and thanks SEW much for being patient while we "shut down" for our move.

Have a great day!

A busy day planned......

I've been MIA for awhile but for good reason.  We are relocating and moving back to "paradise".  It should be great inspiration with all the beautiful views and colors!

On that note, today has a busy day planned for me.  After I spend a few hours outside getting some much needed natural sunlight, I will be working on a few memory quilts for a Greenville customer.  One from some flannel shirts that belonged to her grandfather and two others from her husband's unused Army uniforms.   I'm happy to report her husband returned safely from what is hopefully his last deployment.

I will be sure to post photos of my WIP, once I can find my camera.  :-)  Might have to use my trusty (ok not so trusty) phone camera for pics.

Have a wonderful day!

I'm Officially an "Author"

I am SEW excited today.  I received an email today from YouCanMakeThis.com that they have approved me as one of their published authors.  I have been trying for this for quite some time.

I have already submitted one pattern and will be writing up more in the future.  I plan to provide a variety of different patterns since I love to do a variety of different crafts and also enjoy making things up as I go along.  These will include patterns for sewing, quilting, knitting, and crochet.

I need to thank my blog followers, Facebook friends/fans, my cyber quilt group and more for such inspiration to keep moving forward in my crafting endeavors.  Maybe this will someday be my full-time job after all.  :-)

My New Handmade Wall Quilt Rack

My DH was kind enough to make me a wall quilt rack today and it was all his idea too! :-)  I'm thrilled with the results and now I have a handy place to hang my quilts for photos or just for display.  As a dear friend told me today, every quilt studio needs a quilt hanging on the wall. :-D

I also moved my dgm old vintage sewing machine into the sewing nook, placed a table cloth over it and now using it to display my baskets of key fobs, coasters, pot holders and my beaded key fob/knitting stitch marker tree.
