Painting a Two-Toned Striped Room

We just painted our boys new bedroom this weekend and thought we'd share our "how to's" with everyone.  They chose two beautiful shades of blue from Glidden; the top half of the room is Robin Egg Blue and the lower half is Caribbean Sea.

Our end goal is to make the room an under the sea theme with a mural painted on the wall.  In the meantime, it's just the blues.

Preview of "before" : We didn't take a before photo before we started but the entire room was the dull red shown here on the baseboard. We opted for a white primer over all of the red to avoid the red from bleeding through our new paint colors.

Marking the line
We marked a line 3 ft. from the floor all the way around the room. It was super easy with the Black & Decker Laser Level. Simply place the painters tape along the red laser line.

Painting : Paint the bottom paint up to and onto the painters tape; paint the top paint down and onto the tape as well.
