I've been on a roll for orders with my newest addition of 6 pocket bags/purses. I've named this purse the "Helena" since it was ordered by my dear friend, Helena. :-) She chose the fabrics and they were such a big hit, I have 2 more orders to fill in the same prints. She is such a trend setter. LOL I will also have 2 more available for sale but just opposite as shown here. The green print will be on the outside pockets and the paisley for the larger interior/lining pocket. This one shown has a magnetic snap enclosure for a local friend, Tammy. She will use her bag as a daily purse while others are using for a poolside tote and another as a fashionable diaper bag without the magnetic snap closure. Custom orders are always welcome! Just contact me for more information.

John Deere Toddler Rag Quilt
|
Red Black Pick-a-Pocket Purse & Key Fobs
| |
My hubby was nice enough to finish clip this cute John Deere rag quilt for me today while he watched some football. I had no idea he was clipping away until he showed me it was done. :-) I will have it listed soon. I also finished one of my newest pick-a-pocket purses but I put this one together a little differently and need to finish off the seams with my serger. I think the lining is sturdier with this construction but that's just my own humble opinion. :-)

I love anything red/black/white and really like this mix. I have layouts of 2 different purses with matching key fobs using the same fabrics; just opposite of each other. I hope to make these tomorrow so stay tuned for finished pics. :-)

I am really loving this pattern and made another purse today. I made the straps just a bit longer than called for so it can be slipped over your shoulder too or carried in your hand. I already picked out a red, black, white print for my next one. This is a great bag for anyone that wants to stay organized; use as a project bag, daily purse, diaper bag; whatever you decide, you will have plenty of pockets to keep everything in order. This set is available for purchase in my Etsy shop HERE.

Finally made a Pick-A-Pocket Purse today along with a matching key fob. I printed the pattern quite some time ago but never got to it. This purse has 6 exterior pockets; handy for your keys, phone, etc. If you knit or crochet, it's a handy little project bag too! Fill the big interior section with yard and your needles, note cards, etc. in the exterior pockets. I plan to make more this week but I think I would prefer to add a magnetic snap for a closure; this pattern doesn't call for any closure. It's a nice compact size; only approx. 8" x 10" x 4" deep. I'll be listing this and others in my shop soon. If you want to place a custom order, just let me know.

The holiday season is here and that means gift giving. Why not wrap that special item in a handmade crochet or knit gift bag? They are reusable and eco-friendly. Dig into your stash without spending more money on wrappings. :-) Make them for year-round gift giving too! Make a yarn drawstring and a small bag can double as a soap holder/bag for the shower. I have them linked for easy download, simply click on the crochet or knit links for the free PDF pattern.

These grab bags are great for knitting & crochet projects or to just carry around town. I made one with University of TN fabrics and the buyer loves it; she's going to use her bag for all of the football games this fall. I didn't line my bag or add the interior pocket so it is fully reversible and easily stowed in the glove box or another bag. As always, click on the photo for a PDF copy of this free pattern.

I got to spend some time clipping, sewing and creating on Sunday while the boys played outside and my husband went fishing. I finished my Steelers raggy tote for a cousin (who has been waiting very patiently). I made a teal and brown car seat rag quilt and also made myself an insulated lunch tote and matching can koozie....just need to find my velcro to finish them off. Opened my velcro drawer and it was full of elastic....hmmmmm.

This is not my tutorial but I love to find free patterns for myself and to share with others. This is a great tutorial and the bag can be easily adjusted for any size you wish to make. You only need two yards of fabric and the designer actually used an old pair of denim jeans and scrap fabric for her bag shown here. Click on the photo for the tutorial link. Materials:- 1 yard x 12” main fabric (I used large scraps of upholstery fabric)
- 1 yard x 12” lining fabric (I used an old pair of jeans)
- 1 yard of ribbon
- 5” elastic
- A dinner plate
If you make this bag, feel free to post a photo link in a comment. We'd love to see it! Enjoy and happy sewing!
